That’s probably because the band wasn’t formed until recently (in March of this year to be exact). The band started of as the duo of Kyle Fadeley (Guitar) and rapper Michael Stover (aka Sto aka Defender of the Art). The two wanted to perform at the Coffee For A Cause charity event at the Twinsburg Library in March of 2009. Kyle had been in several bands before and Michael had been rapping for almost a year. Second rapper Brandon Ivey (aka Master B) came along to give the duo that extra edge with his no holds bar lyrics. However the band was still missing a drummer, this is where Drummer/DJ/Keyboardist Alex Kloss came in and pulled all the members together to make that would change music forever. Alex Kloss has a lot of talent making beats using Ableton and is a DJ that can make very nice sounding cuts. Combining rock and hip hop with lyrics that will make the crowd think the Crew is a band that wants to change music. The Crew have one song “The Crew Debuts” which they performed at Coffee for A Cause. The beat to that was created by Michael had a strong resemblance to The White Stripes song “Black Math” even though Michael had never heard the song in his life. The song ended up being a hit so The Crew happily (I mean very happily) accepted the invitation to play at Twinstock. The Crew’s sound varies, they can do hard-core rap, hard-core rock and everything in between the key is don’t get this band confused with Linkin Park or Hollywood Undead they sound nothing like either of those bands, The Crew have their own unique sound that all music fans will enjoy. The key to The Crew’s sound is the lyrics they use in their songs. Both rappers Brandon and Michael hate mainstream rap (which is evident in their music) and their trying to change people’s stereotypes of rap by having a more positive sound. Michael is actually a Christian Rapper and Brandon takes a more underground approach to his lyrics. The Crew intends to unveil six new tracks at Twinstock.

Eclyptic

After much ado and persuasion, we have finally managed to secure one of the most popular local bands in the Kent/Cleveland area: Eclyptic. Straight from them:

Aevory Nash formed in the fall of 2007 as the backup band for Brian Campbell. After much hard work and preparation, the 4 then-college students spent 24 days touring all of Europe, making friends and sharing their music. After performing for a total of over 3000 people, Brian Campbell and his band returned to the States with a new vision. The band was renamed "Aevory Nash" and the band's musical style evolved from pop-rock to a more raw alt-rock sound. In the summer of 2008, Aevory Nash recorded it's first EP, "The Legend of Aevory Nash" and played more shows, expanding their network and forming relationships with fans and other bands. In the fall, after their second drummer unexpectedly quit, Aevory Nash went through another growth period, struggling to play shows nearly every weekend with backup drummers. Through this stressful time, the remaining members of Aevory Nash showed their determination to continue as a band. In the spring of 2009, as the original bassist also left the band, Brian and Dan met Garrett and Matt, who shared Aevory Nash's passion and vision. As the summer of 2009 approaches, Aevory Nash is poised to step it up a notch, play more shows, meet more people, and do greater things.

Tickets

I checked the mail today and found the tickets we ordered a while ago. Will and Matt designed them on some website to look all official and stuff. We ordered 750 of them, for now. It would be flabbergasting if we actually needed all of those, and even more so if we had to order more. But that is our goal. We need to sell a psychotic amount of these things (partly to get the word out because people will already have this planned and tell their friends about it, and also to ensure that the people who say they will attend are true to their word). This also helps guage the amount of people we will have at our little event.

In order to obtain these tickets, one should either contact Matt or Nico Ciani (if one is from Aurora), or Will or John Myers or Ian Bojalad (if one is from Twinsburg). Other locations these will be sold are at Angelo's Pizza in Aurora and at Gitterpicker String Factory in Twinsburg. They will cost you 5 dollars each. Everyone is encouraged to buy tickets in advance. We chose the Emergency Assistance Center because it is local and does things for a good cause. the Emergency Assistance center accepts donations of non-perishable food items and money to temporarily provide assistance to families in need. They work around Summit County (Twinsburg and Aurora, too!). We met with a planner from this Organization a few days ago and she seems very enthusiastic about this event.

The Emergency Assistance Center will have a table set up (probably near thre merchandise table) for information, as well as to accept donations that anyone brings (and is encouraged to bring) to the show. At the end, or somewhat near it, of the show, we would like the organization to prepare a slideshow and give as much information as possible about themselves. All proceeds from Twinstock 2009 go straight to the representatives who will attend the show.

Angelo's Pizza

For those wondering about what the food situation will be at our wonderful event, i would love to give you some fantastic news. They are a vital part of the ever-so-present Twinsburg music scene. To see more information about them, go to their website at http://www.gitterpicker.com/.

All of us would like to thank Steve and Laura Radcliffe for helping us out with this thing. The folks here at Twinstock are currently looking to create something for these purposes. If anyone has a Twinstock design they would like to have considered as the official Twinstock shirt/banner/et cetera, please feel free to e-mail us at finalrev@gmail.com. No real requirements for this public assignment, other than that this design needs to be clean, nice-looking, and relatively professional-looking.

As i imagine, there will be absolute flooding of our email inbox now because of this assignment.

Thanks to everyone who actually does send in a design. Just think, if you're the only one (and you draw better than a three-year-old), your design will be printed on t-shirts and displayed to the world! And by world, i mean the small area of Northeast Ohio that we call Twinsburg (and a teensy bit of Aurora). Fame and fortune, baby.

Fame and fortune.

Saints and Poets

The first band we would like to introduce as part of this lineup is the band who organized this whole thing: Saints and Poets. We are a band originally entirely from Twinsburg, Ohio. It started as a random music creation thing before we knew how to play our instruments. The original members were Matt Ciani on vocals and guitar, Nico Ciani on drums, Will Myers on guitar, and John Myers on bass. Matt and Will were the main songwriters. After quite a few shows and alot of time to work out the whole band thing, we recruited Ian Bojalad on keyboards. Now he has joined the songwriting process, and contributes quite a bit. He also makes the live shows alot more fun.

All in all, Saints and Poets have been spending our time for these last few years creating a live show that is fun for both the band and the crowd. We have a few EPs as well. The And EP is the most recent of these.

Saints and Poets is just one of the many bands who will be playing at Twinstock. Stay tuned for more advancements on the lineup! Each band will get a bio on this blog. Check back for bands you like, or even request them to play! Email me at finalrev@gmail.com and we will be sure to try to get you a spot!

Peace.

Well, here we are.

Well, here we are. Twinstock was a big idea that has turned into something real. Now it's time for planning. The fun part. No doubt. The coordination of a psychotic amount of bands and all of the equipment, sponsors, et cetera is something anyone would look forward to.

I should probably start by telling everyone what Twinstock is. It is an idea. It is a concert. A charity concert put together by Will Myers, Matt Ciani, Nico Ciani, Ian Bojalad, and John Myers. We are all members of the band Saints and Poets. The original idea was a day-long music festival with about a million bands playing. That's what it hopefully will end up truly being.

Now, I suppose these planning stages are the most important for getting the nformation out. When I figured out that a date had been offically set for this thing, i took the opportunity to let everyone know. The whole sha-bang is going down on June 27th, at the amphitheater in Twinsburg, Ohio. Hence the name Twinstock. Hopefully, as i said before, this will be a day-long event. Fun for everyone.

We haven't 100% decided on which charity to give the proceeds to, but we have a few ideas. Any input on that would be greatly appreciated. With any ideas, email us at finalrev@gmail.com or contact us on facebook or myspace. We're on there. We're hipsters.

The point of this first post was just to tell everyone why this blog has been created, as well as to give contact information for anyone.

If anyone reading this knows a band that they think will be interested in playing at this event, let us know. We are open to pretty much anyone, considering the huuuuge time slot we need to fill. That being said, there are a few restrictions on bands. First of all, bands need top play quality mucic. This isn't saying it has to be for everyone, but bands must have some kind of experience playing live so we don't have a bunch of clueless band members running around. This whole thing is complicared enough as it is. Also, bands should be able to fill at least a twenty minute time slot, if not more. This ensures that we won't have to chaotically switch between bands every fifteen minutes. It also eliminates bands who don't know what they are doing. Pretty simple restrictions, no? Oh, and try to keep it as clean as possible.

Tickets to this show will be printed and given to the bands, as well as sold at schools and stuff like that. They will be somewhere between 5 and 10 dollars. Probably one of those two numbers. We don't like having to make change.

I believe that is the whole low-down for now. More updates to come.
